Good-Bye "Pop of Colour" - Hello Colour Wheels!
You hear it all the time - on decorating shows, magazines and the bridal world: "we're going to keep it neutral, but add a pop of colour". While I admit, I do love a good black and white theme with a beautiful pop of turquoise, fuschia or yellow - I am falling deeply, head-over-heels in love with a new trend emerging in the wedding world: Colour Wheels! Why choose 2 or 3 complimentary colours for your wedding when you can choose an array of colours?
I suggest going to the paint store and picking out a bunch of paint swatches that you think look nice together. Choose 5, 6, 7, or even 10 colours that all compliment eachother and make yourself a little swatchbook to carry in your purse. Not only does it give charisma and character to your wedding, but it certainly makes it easier to pick out flowers and invitations when you don't have to say "yeah, that purple is a little too light, do you have anything 1 shade darker?" when you have 3 or 4 shades of purple in your swatchbook to choose from! These are a few of my favourite combinations:
Bird Cage Themed Weddings
By Jenna Wiegand
Every wedding season, we see a new crop of clip art come through on many invitations. Last year everyone loved the chandelier - in fact, we still love the chandelier! But in trends for 2012, it looks like the chandelier is on it's way out. To replace it, we're seeing a more whimsical and slightly less expected trend with - of all things - bird cages! 2012 weddings have a whimsical yet elegant feel to them, so using a cute wire bird cage theme will keep you on top of the trends.
How are we on trend? Check out these great bird cage bridal shower invitations. They're 20$ for the digital file, or 1$ each and 1$ for a coloured envelope if you want us to make them for you. We have many great designs for wedding invitations to show you. So Contact Us to make an appointment and view our samples!
Back Pockets aren't Just for Pants you Know!
If you love the idea of tucking away all your inserts in a neat little pocket, but your budget won't allow for a full-blown Pocketfold Invitation, why not go with the A7 pocket? One day while making a set of 5x7 invitations, a shimmering pink lightbulb appeared over my head. I thought "Why am I chopping off the extra 1.5 inches on the side of this invitation, when I could just fold it over and make a pocket on the back?!" These look so elegant and beautiful, and your inserts won't get lost in the envelope, or all fall out of the invitation when you open it up. It's only 25 cents to add a pocket to any of our A7 invitations, which range from 1-4$ depending on cardstock and embellishments ordered. Contact Us for a quote!
